The Association of the United States Army – AUSA Global Force 2023 conference began in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, where the HAWKEYE 105 mm Mobile Weapon System integrated with the HMMWV M1152A1 vehicle with the B2 armor kit installed was presented at the AM General LLC stand.
This resulted in the lightest, most maneuverable, self-propelled 105 mm howitzer in the world. Another advantage of this system, in addition to the lack of the need to obtain a vehicle for towed howitzers, is its maneuverability, which allows to move, fire and move again, without the use of towing equipment and a larger number of soldiers supporting the manoeuvre. Thanks to this, the effectiveness of operations increases, because the rebound is much faster than with standard towed howitzers, and the risk of counter-shooting by the enemy is reduced, and the infantry units have constant artillery support.
