Poland bought 48 F-16 C/D Block 50/52 aircraft, including 36 single and 12 two-seaters. The price of aircraft, technical support and training amounted to over USD 3.5 billion. Polish Air Force in 2022 [REPORT]

2022-12-30

When in a dozen or so years someone will describe the history of Polish military aviation, the year 2022 will certainly be an important turning point for them. It was in this year that many ground-breaking purchasing decisions were made and commissioning of new generation systems purchased in recent years began. It is also worth emphasizing that deliveries under some programs were also successfully completed.

The Polish Air Force remained very busy in 2022, with Polish air bases and air traffic controllers dealing with significantly increased aircraft traffic. In connection with the war in Ukraine, dozens of allied combat aircraft appeared over Poland, sent here to Polish bases in order to strengthen the protection of the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance against air threats. Therefore, NATO aerial refueling and reconnaissance planes often appeared over Poland, often looking with their sensors hundreds of kilometers to the east.

Hence the word “Consulting” in the name of the company. We helped them to discern in that situation and over the years we developed the business.

Chain Reaction: The Barrier Between Life and Deathk

2021-09-02

The Chain Reaction article, published in The MATS Flyer, August 1955, highlighted the first time a land-based aircraft arrestment occurred. Following lessons learned during the Korean War, a need for a reliable land-based aircraft arresting system (AAS) arose.

The Korean War presented tremendous challenges for USAF engineers. Between World War II and the Korean War, several new aircraft were introduced into the inventory. The newer aircraft required longer and wider runways, larger taxiways and parking aprons, and more stringent design criteria for gradients, clear zones, and pavement thickness. Larger fuel storage and munitions facilities, as well as more maintenance and support facilities, were needed. Engineers had to accommodate ever-larger cargo aircraft and jet aircraft.

MOD: First Hummer in the collection of the Museum of the Polish Army

HMMWV in the Polish Army

2012-10-09

After the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, the collapse of the USSR and Poland’s accession to NATO in 1999, it became clear that the military markets of the West would open up to the Polish Armed Forces. So far, when the country’s policy was directed towards the pro-Russian side, the basic equipment of the Polish army was the equipment developed by our then eastern “allies”. To this day, we have the opportunity to meet remnants from that period on training grounds and in units all over Poland, in the form of well-known UAZs, Ural or Kraz trucks. This picture, however, slowly, precisely since 1999, began to change. Starting from individual equipment of special units, through MRAP vehicles in Afghanistan, and ending with multi-role F-16 or C-130 transport aircraft, the Polish Armed Forces more and more often use equipment used by other members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. One of the effects of cooperation with the most important member of this system – the United States, was the receipt of over two hundred of the most famous modern military off-road vehicles, the heroes of the text below, i.e. HMMWV vehicles.
