Recently we had the privilege of writing a whole chapter for a new publication edited by the Military Institute of Armor and Automotive Technology. In Chapter VII, President Iwona Moraczewska writes about multi-purpose, high-mobility wheeled vehicles (HMMWV) in the armed forces of the Republic of Poland.
Chapter VII
Every army in the world uses motor vehicles – from general-purpose vehicles to specialized ones. The number of types and models depends on the level of modernity of a given army and its size. It can be clearly stated that a modern army cannot function without cars. One of those are high mobility multi-purpose vehicles, used, as their name suggests, for various tasks – from combat applications (light support) to purely transport applications (transportation of people, including the wounded, as well as cargo).
