ESCO aircraft arresting systems protect landings of allied aircraft at the airport in Bydgoszcz.

Once again, the BAK-12 PortArrest P-IV® mobile system of the Polish Air Force, manufactured by ESCO, secured take-offs and landings of American Air Force aircraft landing at the airport in Bydgoszcz in order to carry out maintenance by WZL No. 2 SA Bydgoszcz. This project is the result of cooperation between the Air Force, WZL No. 2 SA in Bydgoszcz and the Bydgoszcz Airport. On the American side, AAR Government Services Inc. participates in the project.

The BAK-12 PortArrest P-IV® system and operators originate from a Polish Air Base. Operation of the system is supervised by specialists from the Service Team of the Aviation Technology Workshops in Toruń.

Entrusting the Polish side with this project by the American contractor is a proof of recognition for the knowledge and skills of our soldiers as well as technicians and engineers from WTL Toruń. At present, only soldiers in AF Bases and specialists from WTL Toruń and the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate are authorized to use, operate and logistically secure these systems. Without their skills and knowledge, as well as the favor of DG RSZ, which allocated the devices, the implementation of allied servicing of the F-16 at WZL No. 2 SA Bydgoszcz – an extremely prestigious project for the Polish defense industry – would be very difficult or even impossible to conduct.
